Although it is not a very elaborate figurine this little piece was really quite difficult :o
This, however, is more due to my choice of material (it can be hardened in an oven...yay^^) with which until now I only managed simpler figurines, e.g. sleeping foxes and a sitting wolf.

It's called 'Fimo', which at first has a rather hard consistency and is therefore difficult to mold but gets softer through body temperature up to the point where it gets almost sticky (which makes it even more difficult to form small details and is also the reason why I have produced only very few figurines with it yet...)
Fimo is good stuff, in fact I like it better for some applications over Super Sculpy, or Sculpy 3. My sculptress friend April Shelby introduced me to the stuff, and showed me some rather fragile looking marionettes made with Fimo that were very sturdy. I like using Fimo for delicate things like fingers, hands, horns and fiddly sharp bits. Like Sculpy, or even some epoxy putties, there's the advantage that if something breaks off, as long as it's not painted, one can simply stick new Polyform clay in place and re-create the broken part right on the model. Zap it with a heat gun, then the item is as good as new.
