I personally believe that Pokemon are open to interpretation and, regardless of what they are "intended" to be, I enjoy diverse interpretations. I am aware that Entei can easily be perceived as a lion-- pretty sure everyone is-- but I simply do not like to see, nor draw him as such. They are drawn in an ambiguous enough style for nothing to be set in stone, I believe.
