So me dressed up as a Praetorian Guard for the Roman-Empire themed Antheria, drawn by  tsukikitsunetanuki.

Why Praetorian Guard? Because I had reservations about Antheria going back to before much was announced. I'll ask the people who I had that conversation at FC with if they remember, to back me up - but around the same time (2009) that the Antheria crowd was scouting for Antheria, I was also looking at pulling a convnetion together... and didn't think I could get it done sooner than 2011. Antheria was shooting for 2010, with a much shorter leadup than I would have allowed.

Between that, and some issues that arose from Califur 2009, I had my doubts... but I was willing to give it a chance. And if I didn't think it would work... Well, I'd perform my duty to the fandom.

The Praetorian Guards killed and enthroned plenty of emperors. Another one wouldn't be too much work.

Yes, this was what my intent was way back then. Antheria is dead dead dead dead dead dead dead now, and now everyone's gunshy for a potential Summercon :(
