Over the last week, I decided to write out some rough draft descriptions for each corporation in the Adipose City setting. At the moment all six corporations are presentable, I plan on putting them up one at a time to avoid flooding, working down the alphabet.
Next is Burger World, the token American mega-corp. While it would be easy to write them as the typical hyper-nationalist ultra-American corp, that troupe's already been done. That said, they still have some of the biggest guns in the setting.
Burger World and its subsidiaries are (C) Psion 2012-2013

For the Adipose City Universe
Name: Burger World
Territory: Controlling Shareholder of North American continent. Sphere of influence extends from Northern Canada all the way down to the northern half of the American Southwest and central California.
Description: Burger World is in some ways purely a child of the Post-Peak era. Before The Peak, North America was dominated by several competing burger franchises. During the chaotic crash of the petroleum markets and the resulting economic downturn, these once-enemies joined together in a series of buyouts and corporate mergers. While one would think the company would lose its identity, Burger World had no trouble finding a new one as the premier taste of everything American.
Corporate Goals: While reasonably secure, Burger World’s position is faced with several threats. The largest is their ongoing war with Taco King for control of the American Southwest. Burger World’s primary goal is to either secure market ownership of these territories or at least grind their opposition down to the point where they’d accept a compromise agreement. Their secondary concerns involve SALAD and Aristo, Burger World is starting to invest heavily into closing the tech gap between SALAD and themselves and expanding their operations into Western Europe in order to undermine the Europeans.
Mindset: It would be easy to compare Burger World to the nationalistic American weapons manufacturers popular in Pre-Crash cyberpunk media, easy yet only half-correct. Overall, BW’s mindset is best described as “socially liberal, financially conservative.” Discipline is prized yet underneath the camo fatigues and military uniforms is a diverse pool of employees; bigotry is generally classed as an “unproductive” behavior, something that is actively discouraged.
Operational Method: The company maintains a military-like yet fairly fluid structure and style of management outside of combat. When they do have to go to war, Burger World relies heavily on a combined arms strategy consisting of big guns, bigger tanks, and small squads of well-trained infantry soldiers. Strikes are carried out with surgical precision, leaving the target nothing but a smoking wreck while the surrounding area remains profitably unscathed.
Subsidiaries: While primarily focused on burgers, steaks, and other beef/pork products, the company maintains a few subsidiaries to diversify its menu.
PhatStacks: A chain of 24-hour pancake and waffle houses bought up by Burger World. Despite minimal domestic earnings, PhatStacks has seen promising signs of success over in Europe; affording the company an excuse to establish a small security presence in Aristo and Italania territory.
Chick-e-ton: Chicken franchise, gradually regaining popularity after adjusting price to portion ratio.
Cosmo-Buffet: A multi-cultural buffet serving a cross-section of America, includes themed days like “Tex-Mex Tuesday.”
