Finished up Umi today :) hes my second toony-suit and this time round I got to try out my new digitigrade padding that i'll be using for future suits.
May go back onto the bodysuit and give it a little airbrushing when I get my new airbrush in, but for now im going to get back onto confuzzled stock and the other two suits I have~

Okay!
I think the amount of whites in the eye and the positioning of the iris/pupil make the character look afraid. A good tip I heard and that I try to follow is have the iris/pupil area touching one of the edges of the eye. Let me know if this needs to be clarified with an image example. The iris/pupil could stand to be a little larger too, but that starts to fall under the realm of stylistic preference.
The other thing I wanted to mention is the nose- the black border around the nose is distracting, it makes the nose the main focal point for the costume, hard to look away. I have heard people do the black strip to hide the raw edge of the fabric? But all you really need to do is hem the area with hot glue for a seamless look :D
I like the use of different fur lengths here and upon looking at this for the second time, I'm noticing more different kinds of fur than I saw last time. It's a really subtle but cool effect!
And I love that you make the feet appropriately shaped for the digitigrade legs. A lot of people make regular feet with a heel and stick them on digitigrade legs and it just looks awkward, the care you've put into the overall silhouette of the costume is obvious!

Ahh see its the eyes that are bothering me, and I think I know exactly what you mean on how to fix that O: I may experiment with that tomorrow and make some prototypes
The nose thing, see I LIKE the borders around noses as I did hem the edges properly but I've always liked the borders on toony suits, but I think I'll change the black to a dark blue (just slightly darker than the nose) so its less distracting :)
And thank you for the crit and kind words~ I absolutely love using varying lengths of fur in a suit it adds to much

(gonna throw my two cents in there too!)
i. seriously. LOVE the bodysuit so much, wow. i love the different fur lengths you used along the back, it is seriously fantastic looking!
and the padding looks really fantastic! excellent work! :D some of the best padding i've seen!
on the contrary, i think the black border around the nose is very important on suits! to me, it brings everything together in one central point. but i do agree that maybe the eye holes need to be bigger so that the iris and pupil can be a little bigger!
i would also maybe suggest eyebrows because that gives them a little more of an expression (if that is what you are going for, that may be a personal preference on toony suits!)
but seriously, fantastic job on this cutie.

ahh cool~ thank you so much ;u; all you guys are much too sweet
and same here, though I think as its a coloured nose (as theyre usually black) a dark blue border would fix that problem nicely, and I agree with you both on the eyes, Im going to rework them with a larger iris :)
and I was toying with the idea of eyebrows, still unsure but im thinking on it~

I must know!
What fur did you use for the body? The shorter pile rust color? I am a rust fur addict and I must find it and add it to my collection! lol. I have some of the red fox cubby from crs, but this seems so much softer and much more uniform in color. Thanks in advance! This is ADORABLE!
