So this is another meme I've wanted to fill out just because it's such a cool idea. And yes, I do think of my characters in terms of colors, just like I think of them in terms of theme songs and cinematic montages. This time I tried to stay away from my "standard" characters and instead showcase a few of my lesser used but just as beloved characters. Also I tried a new style for coloring and I have to say that I really enjoyed it. Might need some work to get right, but for a first try at what I can only guess is a kind of pop art, I call it a success! From the left we have...
Red/Rue with his unnamed demon companion--Rue is probably one of my favorite unused characters. He's a blind gang member who deals in black market goods and pays for almost everything with an elaborate system of favors rather than currency. Before he lost his eyes, he dabbled in painting as a hobby and refused to give it up after being blinded. However, after losing his sight, he stopped caring about the colors, and wound up just using red over and over again. (He's painted all the walls of his room red several times over at this point.) Later in his timeline, he gets left for dead in a bad shootout, and winds up making a deal with a demon to get his life back. Because he's a professional deal maker and because his chosen demon isn't exactly the sharpest, Rue actually comes out ahead on that demon deal...
Orange/Mikey (Mia)--Mikey is my murderous troll rogue. She's got a pretty face, but completely lacks emotions or even common empathy now that the love of her life (an orc warlock who once chose to save her life rather than kill her) is dead. She truly has become a psychopath. It might not be obvious why I associate orange with Mikey, but there are several reasons. First of all, when I first rolled her many moons ago, back in vanilla Warcraft alone, she had long orange hair. Later she cut it short, and finally settled on the tiny pink mohawk because it is freaking adorable, but I do always remember what she looked like when she was "young." Mikey also has amber colored eyes, and that's actually mentioned a noticeable amount in the Echoing chapters that revolve around her. Finally, for some unknown reason, I always see Mikey with a bright orange sunset behind her. I don't know why, but orange is her color.
Yellow/Wild Brush--One of my newest characters, my MLP pony OC was a gift from friend TwitchaTwitch86 of DeviantArt when I complained that I have an inability to create sweet and non-damaged characters. Wild Brush is an artist who uses her tail as a paintbrush, and although she's a little shy and maybe too humble, she's also like a ray of sunshine!
Green/Zinnia--Zinnia is one of my all time favorite D&D characters. I wanted to play a half orc bard something fierce, and Zinnia was loads of fun. She might be on the run from an ex-fiance paladin after they had a bad falling out, but in other areas she's brave, strong, fun, funny, and bright. Her lute was reinforced with steel so that it could double as a mace, too. Zinnia is also one of the most colorful characters in how she dresses as well as how she acts. I could have given her almost any shade and made a good argument for it, but to be honest, she's just spring green like her beautiful half orc skin.
Blue/Wisp and TV Head--Wisp and TV Head are by far the strangest of all my characters, and probably the least explained. Short version; TV Head found Wisp randomly in a junkyard. Before that time, his screen had always been blank and black. As soon as Wisp showed up, and as along as Wisp hangs around, TV Head shows static! Perhaps when he's around Wisp AND someone/thing else he'll actually pick up a program or a broadcast of some kind... These two represent the color blue in a couple ways. First, Wisp is a pale blue color. Second, TVs always make me think of blue light because of watching too many news broadcasts late at night. Third, and probably most importantly, their story is a melancholy post apocalyptic tale of the lost and found. How could that not be blue?
Purple/Sky River--My psychic white buffalo is another character I don't use/work on enough. I love him/her (he's actually a genderless spirit beast) but have a sad lack of furry character story mojo left due to the insane amounts of furry character stories I made throughout my school days. At least that's what I blame it on. Anywho, Sky River is a quiet, calm creature with one eye that sees the future. He spends his time guiding the lost back to their paths. Due to his eye color and just something about his nature, I feel like the purple is a perfect fit for him. Her. It.
