Dragon Playmat WIP
Surprisingly markers are the best tools to use if you have to draw on a giant mousepad. Acrylics make playmats too hard to roll up (and alcohol-based markers still are pretty resistant to water and all that sort of stuff).
For those who are wondering: due to their difficult nature I don't take traditional commissions (except in rare circumstances). A full playmat illustration would run about $250+ depending on the subject. I am considering doing one or two traditional pieces for the Anthrocon art show, if I have the time. :)
Straight Copic marker, no pencil sketch (fabric playmat is 14x24"). About three hours in.

Oh, wow. This is cool. Do you have an idea what it does when washed in washmashine? Do the colors really resist? I have a small set of Copics but I don't use them much, this would be a perfect use though. When washed in vinegar, this could be quite durable I think... (unless you spill an alcohol on the t-shirt, lol)
Thank you! Though, I guess I wasn't specific enough on what type of fabric I was painting on. XD
It's the fabric on a mousepad (playmats are like... giant mousepads you use to play card games or sometimes tabletop games). Not sure how colorfast markers are in other situations... I probably wouldn't do anything to a T-shirt that wasn't screen printing, but if you have an old white T-shirt it might not hurt to do a test area and toss it in the wash. :)
