This poem came to me one night as I watched a black cat prowling around outside my apartment. He was beautiful, but every the wind blew the leaves across the pavement, he would hiss and pounce. WAtching the cat made me want to bring it into my house, but I didn't ( he looked really angry). The poem was later revamped (pun) for an 8-page comic book story about a vampire who used the poem to lure her intended victim.
