Well here's what I do. Draw a few things when you aren't really feeling artistic and want to get structure into your system, work on anatomy, folds in clothing, anything that strikes your fancy. You could trace a few pictures to get an idea of how they are built, just don't post them. Use them as a reference to teach your hand how to do the structure you are trying to learn.
When you feel artistic, it'll transfer over a bit more. Because you're teaching your muscles how the body looks, so you're still learning and when you feel like drawing, it really does transfer into your art.
