Dont think you guys have seen this one, this is at least 6 months old...
So, this is a Speed-art a did Against a friend done in about 1/2 an hour for the base, and another 20 mins for the colour...and it is still unfinished, but, meh.
General Specs:
Entered service with 76mm gun, that, of course, could not knock out the later models of Panther and Tiger tanks
KV-1 entered in service for Russia against German Panzers, series 1 - 4, ALL OF WHICH lacked the fire power to knock them out initially, its 75mm sloped armour was thick enough to withstand all but the more powerful AT weapons Germany fielded.
KV-1 could easilly face down Panzaer 1, 2 and 3, but its initial 76mm gun was found to not be able to reliably knock out the Panzer 4 and its 80mm of frontal armour (flat plate) due to the gun's poor penetration (although it was good for the time).
Panzer 4 could easily be knocked out by later models of the KV series and the T34-57 TDs (T34 chassis and turret with the 57mm AT gun mounted) and 57mm mobile AT guns

Thanks, but it could have been done a lot better, but this was my first one I did, later followed up with http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9276161/ and http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9090904/ and finally http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9583320/
Nice pic considering the low amount of time you put into it.
But there are some possible improvements for the specs
the KV1 had a 76mm gun
and it kould not destroy the most common kind of Pz4 the Ausf.H because this one had 80mm of frontal armor itself.
But you are right when you say that in 41 this thing was very hard to kill unless it ran into an FlaK36 or Stuka.
Later on in the war the KV was just cannon fodder for the widely spread Pak 40

I didnt read too far into it, so its good to know I was mostly right...
But wasnt the Panzer-4's turret only 50mm on the front back then and didnt get the Schmalturm 120mm turret, so I guess a lucky shot from the 76mm gun might hit the turret area and punch through...
Thanks for the correction on 75mm, I was thinking the USSR used 75mms (only Germany did) for some reason...

Nah the M4 sherman had a 75mm cannon too as did the Cromwell and the M3Lee and some of the Frenchies. 75mm was one of the most frequent calibers in at and light artillery guns during the war.
Something not so frequently known is that the steel used in german armor was way superior to materials used in other nations. Especially if you compare turret armor. German tanks had heat treated armor plates for the turrets instead of the simple cast steel turrets of the USSR and USA combine that with the about 80mm of penetration that soviet 76mm gun had (at point blank range) and the usual battle distances od 600m to 800m and there you go. The IS, the Firefly and the Pershing were the only non german battle tanks that sported decent penetration on long rannges.

Not just the firefly, anything mounted with the 17 pounder (long) was a threat...
Black Prince mounted a 17 pounder
Yeah, German early-steel was of a higher grade than the Shermans and the others. but at the end of the war, the steel they put into the Tiger 2s actually fractured and split when hit by British 17pounder guns SABOT, and after D-day, a Firefly was set up 100m("point-blanc") from a Panther and managed to shatter its front plate after 3 consecutive hits with standered APCBC (Ballistic cap) rounds

I was just counting the tanks that were fielded in numbers worth mentioning. and it is no wonder that an armor plate breaks after 3 hits from a firefly, this gun afterall was about as powerfull as the main gun of the panther itself. But surviving two hits is still much better than being blown to pieces from a single shot fired from 1000m further away than your own combat range. This is what allied tankme had to cope with usually (and this issue also inspired an american Colonel to write a book called "Death traps" about the sherman). And the sabot munition is a whole different story, there was no armor around that could survive sabot hits up until the 1970's.
But you are right, in 45 the quality of the steel was not as good as in the years prior.
But still the production facilities were still the same and most of the surviving facilities were "requisitioned" by the allies and for example showed up in 1970 Great Britain. (there is a fun little story behind that)

Yes, but its so fun to troll the heck out of them with a Matilda , with Squeeze-bore 40mm (121 pen-gun)
Its my favourite tank to play, 1.87 second reload and 50 damage a shot puts out some monstrous DPM against an unwary KV-1 in the open
If you're a WoT player, what is your favourite Nation/tanks? Mine are the British...(not biased for being one...)

I see you are quiter big tank fan(M3, KV-1 and other tank drawed) so I think you will like these pohotos in my gallery, because I am a tank fan too https://www.furaffinity.net/gallery/tomcio1992/ and I think you should try to draw KV-1S USSR Heavy tank
That tank museum is a Military unit in Poznan, I got those photos from polish community metting with players of WoT so I been there, took few photos of interesting units and I am satisfied and I plan to get to the same unit at 1st October when it will have it own celebrations
