I'm totally jealous of this, I loooathe charcoal, how'd you manage to keep it so clean?

The charcoal pencil I was using didn't have too much dust, but I used a blender to get rid of some, and tapped off the rest. I think. It was a long time ago. ;D

Yep, pencil indeed. And blending stumps. I could never have done it with vine charcoal!

I'd say charcoal pencil, hmm? I actually like using the stuff, on occasion, even if it is a little messy to work with. Well, messy for me, anyway- I'm left-handed and that can pose problems in keeping a piece from getting smudged if you tend to work left to right, like I do. This is wonderfully detailed, old or no!

Yes, exactly! And gah, left-handed charcoalling must be tough!

Smeary and I smudge stuff a LOT. Have to start over, half the time. Difficult to keep my paw off the danged page- picture this: I lean over my work like a vulture (that's so I can see what I'm doing) and if I don't brace my fist somehow, I ache after about two hours of cramped little paw-movements. So, smear-city. Heh. But I've done some pretty stuff with it. Should do some more and post 'em- yours is lovely!
