I live in the downtown capital myself... which is why I find this highly ironic.

Suburbs of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Central Canada, where it has been freezing cold and snowing up until this past week, now with +20 degrees Celsius.

Means nothing when you live on the Prairie, as these things tend to go anywhere there's an ample amount of warm bodies.

Nobody is. And the animals stay out.
Now, I've had a tick on my PANTS, but that's it. Saw it and burned it.

I remember when I was a kid, my mom was zipping up the back of my Christmas pageant dress when she suddenly just stopped and told me to stand still. I heard her strike a match and smelled the sulphur and freaked when she used it to pluck a tick off my neck. (Don't worry, felt like plucking a hair :P) Being an outdoorsy kid in the middle of farmland and forestry, I'm amazed that was my one and only tick growing up.

Owww, that's actually very bad to do. Never use a match, only use tweezers, and remove them by the jaws. Otherwise, in case of a match, you can cause them to panic and regurgitate blood, and possibly bacteria, into the wound.

Yeah, but this was two decades ago on a farm where it was common practice. Not anymore!

Man, ever since good friends of mine got infected with Lyme disease from these things I can't help but be extremely wary around them. Just keep a look out for a bulls-eye looking rash, just in case, though hopefully it was harmless!

Ugh, I've never had tick probablems growing up, even though my grandma had a forest in the back yard that I would always wander through, but we just moved waaaay out into the country and keep having them I'm so paranoid I have them on me, and my mom keeps finding them in their bed cause they have the dogs in their room at night haha.
I just flicked a particularly odd looking one off one of the dogs before letting him in >A>

Our dog used to track them in by the dozen, they would fall off dead due to the magic of Frontline. Most of them were already full at that point, though, and the dog would go and find them and pop each and every one of them, no matter where they fell. Huge fun.
