Boba Tea (Green Tea Soy Milk Smoothie with Boba, Strawberry Ice Cream Milkshake with Boba, and Thai Iced Tea with Boba)
(Summer is just around the corner and it’s finally time for sunglasses, days playing outside, and cold refreshing drinks. Like these great Boba drinks you can make at home!)
**Easy Difficulty**
Serves a lot
For Frothy Green Tea with Soy Milk
1/3 cup Boba, Favorite brand (Sometimes labelled Tapioca Pearls)
1/2 Tbsp Matcha (Fine Green Tea Powder)
2 cups Soy Milk
1 cup crushed Ice
Sugar to taste
1.) In a blender, add in Soy Milk, Matcha, and Crushed Ice, and blend until smooth. You can use less or more Matcha if you like. You can also use Green Tea Ice Cream, but then it becomes a Milkshake and not a smoothie. Hehe. Add sugar to your liking.
2.) Prepare Boba according to the package instructions. If instructions are not in English, it’s safe to boil the Boba in water set on Medium heat for 5 minutes with a lid, or until Boba is chewy. Don’t be afraid to test one out. A good ratio of water is 1 part raw Boba and 6 part water.
3.) Place the Boba in your glass and pour your Green Tea Soy Milk Smoothie into the glass and stir. Add a Boba Straw and enjoy a cool, refreshing Vegetarian Drink.

Extra Info: With all three drinks, I’m sure you can find quick tea packages sold at Asian stores that you just add water to, but they can be bland and lacking real flavor. Instant Tea mixes are everywhere now a days, so I thought I’d get back to the good home style Blender made smoothies and shakes. What with it getting to 100 degrees F. here in Arizona, a cold refreshing drink is just what we need! As for the Boba, or Tapioca Pearls, you can find them in most stores now days, but your Asian or Mexican Grocery Stores should have them.
Boba is a great way to make any smoothie or shake fun. Chocolate milkshakes, Pineapple smoothies, and even regular Iced Tea. Brisk Iced Tea and Boba on the go? Yes please. Tapioca doesn’t really have a flavor on its own. It mimics what’s around it, so it’s great in almost anything. Except sodas. At least in my opinion. Makes it taste sort of weird. Try Boba in your favorite chilled drinks. Test out different combinations. Go nuts, and Happy Eating!
