Speedpaint 5/7/13
Time: 4:16
For this speedpaint, I decided to revisit an older piece of mine. I really like the idea, but I thought I could do much better with it now, compared to a few years ago.
I think it turned out much better. The process behind this piece has been saved, on Livestream. http://www.livestream.com/chromamancer
The pleasently punny title is thanks to a comment made by

I'm rather pleased with the result. It hardly seems like a speedpaint, in a way. :)

A very nice speedpaint!
I really like the angle you chose for the view, as I haven't seen this particular angle paired with this particular posing very much, an I think it's very nice, as it gives the dragon a sort of cute feel, while still preserving the latent power of the dragon it is. I really like how you often add a human element to your dragons, without having to make them anthromorphic, simply through a combination of their posing and actions. Really brings back the sort of simple and strong fantasy feel of them!

Thank you very much!
I'm glad you enjoy this piece, and the style of this dragon.
In general, I prefer making them decently intelligent, but without the human body structure. Perhaps it's a carry-over from all the fantasy stores and things I read, when I was young.
I think it's a fun style to use, tough.

Well being its a dragon I figure, it should have works from the greats, like them Greek and Roman authors, and then a bit more modern like Chaucer and Shakespeare, to the more modern classics like Tolstoy and Hemingway works like The art of War etc. I be more afraid if his volumes included the Twilight and 50 Shades of Grey series types.
