So this is a short story I worked up tonight as a writing exercise. I'm hoping to do a few more like it in the coming weeks to help me get back in the groove. Keep in mind these will be exercises, though this one was definitely the most prominent in my mind.
And yes, it may or may not be set in the Novikverse. It's deliberately vague to keep it simple, but I did draw inspiration from several sources.
