A fellow artist on FA made this teapot for me a couple years ago, but unfortunately, the lid had shrunk to the point that it fell into the teapot often. So, I decided to take a ceramics course myself and remake the lid. This is the resulting new lid on the teapot. I didnt quite have the same glazes to use, but i do think i matched up colors that work quite well for it.

Matching the size was incredibly difficult, but I managed to get very lucky. When I threw the lid, it was about 1/2" wider diameter than the outter lip of the teapot...after the first firing it was still about 3/8ths of an inch too large to fit in the rest. Luckily after the glaze firing, it shrank to just the right size...maybe a few thousandths of an inch too large, but it rests well in the seat of the pot and makes a solid connection at least. So i am quite happy with the results! I will post a close up of just the lid as well.
