Now THIS is a car you don't see every day.
This stunningly beautiful machine is a Ford GT-40. It's a mid-engine, 200mph supercar that's world-famous for being the first automobile model to win the punishing Le Mans 24-hour race twice in a row. The "40" in GT-40 is a reference to it' overall height, which is only 40 inches tall. It was also one of the last purpose-made race cars that was road-legal, and it still is.

The GT is alas and older car now and doesn't perform often against the current Ferrari crop, more often against Porsches and Vettes, and even then rarely since they're out of production not alot of teams use them anymore. More often putting Ferrari in its now nothing but a quick hand bag maker place are 911s, Vettes and Vipers.
Awesome!
Did you ever had the chance for a ride in one of these?
My uncle has a nice replica. http://imageshack.us/a/img68/9641/scards4.jpg It's always a very special feeling wwhen you look out the side window and the wheel hub of a truck is above your eye level.
He was the host of the annual german meeting in 2009, and will be again in three weeks. But this time, I'll make a nice video, esp. of the tunnel passage.
