The idea for the Heart Reactor was inspired by the Heart Machine, I thought it was a really creative idea so I thought that making something like an actual heart that pumped live 'blood' around the Cynid power network was a rather creepy and very alien idea
As for the name, Fimbulwinter is an even in Norse Mythology where there'll be an endless winter before the end of the world, followed by many wars. I thought it was very fitting to the setting
