The unicorns of Lorn do not have any "magic." The only two creatures that have what the people call true magic are elves and sprites, and their magic is more of a special ability to control their own natural energy and produce interesting results
The unicorns are predominately seen as a beast of superstition, really. They travel in herds throughout the rainy and often foggy plains and forests of Lorn and have a cry that people refer to as them "singing." The sound is something like a scream mixed with an exotic wolf howl
Mainly because of this sound that they make, people have seen them as creatures of bad luck for centuries. Killing a unicorn is said to bring extreme misfortune although, ironically, finding and possessing any part of their body-- hair, hooves, horn, heart-- is also thought to be lucky, so long as the unicorn wasn't killed by the person's hands. Because of this, many people who are not superstitious will hunt them for prodit. In addition, their horns are used in many strange, unconventional medicines
