Finished full body commission for Latiro, of her lovely green sphinx gal Rabiah! The greens and teals in this were such a pleasure to paint, and I haven't done a real good glowy piece in a while either. Ah, that hit the spot!

Beautiful as always, those emerald and soft greens with hints of blues really tie the piece together <3
Only thing that I find a little odd is if the magic is creating the green light, then why isn't it lighting up the shadows as it swirls around the tail? Is it maybe that the magic by the tail is "older" (further from her hands, so I assume it was made before the magic near her hands) so because of that it's light is duller/non existent maybe? I see it is more transparent than the rest of the magic, so maybe that's it ^^ I just wanted to know your thoughts on it c:

Bleh, sorry for my curt reply yesterday! I was in a hurry out the door and wanted to quickly point you to the right info. XD
Basically, yep! I fudged the lighting to get what I wanted out of the piece, even if it's not 100% realistic. I realize there are parts where the fire would light the figure, but they are in shadow in the painting. That's what's kind of nice about being an artist; bending the rules to get the image you want! But, I hope it doesn't make it look off, that would be the opposite of my goal.

No worries! I totally understand c:
Ah, it looks fine, the only thing that jumped out at me was the tail, but even that as I said before could arguably be because the magic is older, duller and emits less light. I just wanted to hear what you had to say about it, and I totally understand changing things to make the image/character/composition looks better ^^
