Refresh for the clear and crispy version
I've been waiting for Milk Puzzle to respond to a note confirming that everythings good with the art here since his first response was garbled happy text, but I think we're good. XD Besides, I really want to post this. <3
It's kind of funny how I keep coming back and realizing that some of my favorite art is graphic-design-y in nature. Anyway I'm no good with text so this was really the best I could do, haha. I am super duper ridiculously proud of this though, just 100% satisfied with what I've done here. Mmm, inking this baby was fun.

Y'know I'm a sucker for simple graphic imagery so this is right up my ally.
I love everything about this- the inks, the pixels, the font, but I especially love the palette!
I just can't get over how effective the warm palette is here, the colors are perfect and play off of each other so well. It's very eye-catching.
Not to mention for someone like me whose so used to working in cool palettes this really just makes me stop and stare in awe.

I'm really happy with the color palette too, at first it was going to be all warm colors but that last minute change was definitely a good idea. That grey blue just really helps to make the rest of the image pop, IMO. XD I think mostly this was just luck, though I did have a lot of inspiration from Samurai Champloo, so.
Yeah you ever notice how yin/yang our art styles are?? I love that our stuff IS so different and we don't have the same strengths and weaknesses. It's fascinating to analyze, esp. since it seems that (especially online) artists with really similar styles have similar interests and gravitate towards each other. I think sometimes that can be a negative, 'cause if you surround yourself with people who have too much of a similar aesthetic it can weaken you when you need a differing opinion on stuff

I've noticed when studying warm palettes with blues that that grey-blue is usually there. It was definitely a good choice!
And ohhhh yeah, I think the potential to stagnate is definitely higher in a situation like that.
Example- y'know that "SWK" folder I have on my computer? It's got art from 3-4 people in it, but since they all draw in such similar styles I just lump them together because I can hardly tell them apart. I like them all, but that's really no good. :/ As you can imagine their fans are always trying to decipher who is the "original" and who are the copy-cats.
