I saw Koinu-kun and Panda at the con, but we were the only fursuiters. Generally, I was well received by the younger anime fans who thought I was dressed as Amy Rose from Sonic the Hedgehog.

Awww...you poor thing. *snuggles* I've known Roxi for a while now. A bit through fan art here and there, but mostly thanks to "SuperMegaTopia" and being a big fan of their comics and seeing Roxi there and through Max Blackrabbit. ^_^
I wouldn't confuse you with Amy, cause as far as I know, you wouldn't be running around with a squeaky hammer trying to get Sonic to marry you. XD

You're not THAT old. I mean I'm 26, and if you were in your 20s back in 1997 or so, that'd put you in your 30's. That's not that old. My wife is almost 31.
Now hit 40 and then 50... THEN we're getting old.
It just sucks to FEEL old when around a bunch of young punks that think they know it all when not a single one can tell you what the hell YATTAMAN is!
Sorry... personal rant there.
Anyway, are there any particular anime that you're into?

Hmm, Im not too sure if I will be able to. My guess at the moment is probably not (or probobably as I almost typo-ed)
I am gonna try for Anthrocon though, but...well, we'll see how the money goes, bit tight this year lol. If you weren't at Ohayocon this year then you missed some neat things......not as many holes in the all of the stairwell as last year, in that central foyer-stair-thngie but there was a BIG one in one of the lower level halls when someone tripped and went through the drywall...headfirst. as far as I know, they were ok.
Also if you missed this Oahyocon this year you missed a bullet in the form of some flu that was going around. I blame protoswineflu Doom Virus of Megaultimateepic doom and such
Anyway...seeya heh! By the way I've got a question for ya, I'll just note ya with it though, rambled on enough as it is

I can't even lie here.
This picture...is absolutely heartwarming. It's not even as so much the lineart I'm looking at in seeing this. It's the concept behind it that appeals to me. Being the... second Fursuiter at a con and yet STILL being taken well.... is rather impressive. (Then again, I suppose at conventions, costumes are universally taken as 'this person is making an effort to have fun'.)
I suppose it was going to be inevitable that people get it wrong. (But Amy Rose was a stretch. I could have even accepted Bagi. But that's me talking...) Still, it's the facial expression drawn on Roxi's face that makes this golden.
It wouldn't work if she wasn't hugging a fan which is also supposed to a cat person. Sure, said cat person might be thinking it's a different person that expected, but because that kid is HAPPY, then she's all right with it.
Which allows me to understand what that facial expression on her face is. It isn't exactly a smile in 'happiness.' It's 'acceptance.' Sort of like taking it in stride because other people are still able to be around her without that mentality of "fucking furries" that's ever prevalent in a majority of places.
...and that's what makes this absolutely beautiful to me.
You've won my respect for this one. I know it was drawn practically a year, going on two years ago, but it's won it's place in my favorites. Which says something as I never pet more than 3 pictures a month in my favorites on principle.
Bravo. Just....bravo here.

I'm really pleased that you got what I was going for. So much of that convention was me being paranoid and on guard, really out of place, and kind of lonely. Even though I didn't feel a part of that anime fandom anymore, people still came up to hug me, and that gave me relief from my fears.
And then I realized that I was older than all of them, and I felt very protective of other people that were dressing up to have fun. Then I felt like I fit in better. :)
