I'm gathering ideas on how to make a head of my lemur fursona, you see. Lemurs have shiny, leathery faces, so fur isn't going going to cut it. I'd been considering using Antron fleece, but velvet might be a less bulky option. Though I would imagine it's much less 'forgiving' than Antron, so that video would be hugely helpful.
I also love how the velvet add definition to the face, showing off its shadows and highlights, rather than making it look like a flat black lump, which can often happen with fur and fleece. Very cool.
