Well, this might explain my idleness as of the past few weeks.
There was a hella fuckload to do to the kitchen. Gutting it was a nightmare. Taking the original sink out was like wandering around a nightmare haunted by Freddy Krueger. The floor was rotting out and there were dead spiders everywhere. Like, nasty fat ugly ones. The floor was bowed REALLY bad. That was the main reason the kitchen needed to get done. That and the sink wouldn't stop leaking and it looked, overall, hideous.
The electrical was a pain, but it was manageable. Most of that stuff was done by good ole mom, so there's really no detail for me to go into. All I know is that the slightest nudge of the refridgerizer would kill the power. As for the light switch, the basement light was fidgety at best, oftentimes relying on flashlights if the light decided not to work.
The plumbing was the funnest part. The guy we had make the cabinet for the basin decided to make the holes for the PVC the size of fists, so sealing those off is impossible, now... Thankfully, we have a new floor, but it's now quite a snuggly place for mice to nest... Anyhow, the PVC to teh main water had to be cut and the jury rigged/duct taped/epoxy'd piping was replaced with some shiny new pipelines, drains and main water.
The rest is pretty obvious. Put up new dry-wall, new floor tiles (With floor jacks to raise the floor >.<) New paint job, blah blah blah.
Off the kitchen subject, I've got me a new full-time job at the ever expanding Chobani as a forktruck operator. Hellz yeah 12 hour shifts!!!
