Just got a new Intuos5 tablet as a graduation gift, so I doodled up a dolphin to celebrate! My common dolphin character Soquel is seen here picking up some sort of crystal that he found near hydrothermal vents. (Yes, I'm fully aware that a dolphin wouldn't do this or even be capable of doing so in real life, but hey, it's fantasy, right?) Initially I based the crystal on labradorite, as it often forms with basalt, but altered it into a generic glowing fantasy crystal, haha. Also, forgive me if the smoke looks weird (especially since there's no discernible light source, whoops -- rendering underwater volcanic activity is hard!). If you're curious about Soquel's back story, I included it in his reference sheet in my scraps.

And let's hope I eventually get used to this gigantic new tablet!
