Wolf Spider on the prowl at night.
Took this photo about a half hour ago or so in my front yard. I think this is the best wolf spider shot I've done yet. I hate the grass in the way, but that can't be helped sometimes.

And here I thought that the wolf spiders in my basement looked pretty big just to my eyes. Definitely a lot of clarity of detail here though! It is too bad about that grass, but I guess that's all part of photography.
How close was the camera to the critter, and how did it not get scared away beforehand?
