I'm too tired to write a whole little story for this, buuut basically, Ginny has massive emotional issues due to a hugely traumatic and abusive past. I won't go into it now because it's FUCKING NUTS but to make a long story short, she needs little "breaks" where she's "abandoned" and then "rescued" again by Scotch, otherwise she gets nervous because things are TOO good and she quits trusting him and starts being a little brat.

So it's in Scotch's best interest to rip her down to the core and then come back and lift her up again and give her lots of love (in his own, admittedly pretty mean style). Of course, he spends a lot of time beating her, forcing her to do ridiculous things, basically being abusive and traumatic. She likes it though, and she's never in any REAL danger. Scotch wouldn't break his favorite toy!

That's good and with you comment above how well does scot take this? I know you say he to help her since her emotion and such screwy but doesn't he get wear and tear from being mean to some he cares about? Or am I reading about to far in.

He loves being mean. He's a harsh, dominating person, and in their dynamic he is superior to her. She's an animal/toy to him. He cares about her about as much as you or I might care about a television, or a warm blanket, or a favorite t-shirt - we like those things, and want to maintain their value, but we don't -love- them and we aren't afraid to use them for our own purposes.
