This is the last piece I made this evening. I love how the shading came out, especially because of the angles on the limbs of the character. It's based off of no one and nothing in particular, however I plan on giving this to a "special friend" of mine that I never thought would BE my friend. I suppose you could consider them my "inspiration" although they weren't really what I had in mind. When it was finished, however, I immediately thought of them, and so on.
The odd "light" or "smoke" coming from where the "hands" are, is supposed to signify something. Be it negative feelings or thoughts entering the body (weighing it down/knocking that person over), or all the happy thoughts and memories that keep someone afloat are leaving, and reality (also known as "gravity") is pulling the person down. For all I know, it could be an answer to a prayer for help, so that the person could get on their feet.
Either way, this person is in mid-fall position. In hindsight, I should have given the smoke an angle to signify that the person was in motion, but OH WELL. I'm not the perfect artist.
