That is a cute photo.
The kits expression says "Oh hi there" so I'm sure they know who you are. The dogs in the background is just "Oh it's nice to rest and cool off." I have a feeling the kit would run to the dog for protection if it was scared.
The wild foxes that have a den about 50 yard from my door have two black kits, a brown kit and an orange and black mixed kit.
