I dismiss the Book of Mormon -and later Mormon writings- as entirely the creation of Joseph Smith. He made it all up. I have read it and deem it tedious. Parts may be allegorical, disguised events and persons then current. (1830-1840).
I almost joined it back in 1964, then, after examining its tenets and such, backed out in time. I since became an enemy of the sect and in may of '14 became an atheist. I do believe in the soul, tho.
I am GLAD that I never went on missionary work. I am also glad I never became a Witness or worse.
