Before becoming a "Professor", Toccata was a once a teenager. His father, Giuseppe Toccata, was working on many scientific projects involving particles accelerators and radioactivity sources. Unfortunately, his body mutated. He was a magpie yet he managed to have a child with a toucan: his son was born with a breakable beck showing a Delaunay triangulation pattern that had to be reinforced with some especial resin. Even if he succeeded to save his son, he wasn't able to save his own body which fell into pieces. He had to wear a mask and some other prosthesis.
Professor Toccata was always haunted by the image of his father.

Yesterday evening, when I took my graphical tablet, my pen slipped and made a pattern that looked as a huge beak. I didn't plan to draw a bird this night, yet I carried on and added mechanical wings and a long feathered tail. He looked as a taller version of my character Prof. Toccata, but with a more austere look. Of course, the image of the plague doctor came to me afterwards. It was actually a coincidence. In deed, it is quite ironical to see a bird slowly dying from an irreversible illness wearing a doctor mask. I believe that he probably tried to keep up appearance in front of his entourage.
