Because of the difference in styles between the foreground figures and the background, it almost seems like either a dream sequence or something from a montage, as if she were carrying the other character over a long distance and the backgrounds changed style and location to reflect it. It almost seems like a cel from something animated.

I like the concern etched onto the standing figures face, the determination in her eyes. The other figure makes me want to help carry the burden. I'm really glad to see you posting again, hun, especially considering you're one of the people who most had an impact as far as my falling in love with art again.

The gap between characters and environment may be a little bridged now. (I tried.) It was accidental; I had wanted to keep the environment simple, but started out the coloring wrong with regards to that, so it ended up looking unfinished.
...that effect sounds pretty cool though, I should try to achieve it on purpose some time :D

To add some who's-who, the purple cat is Blaze; she was introduced as a sort-of alternate universe double of Sonic and Knuckles combined. Emmy/Amy is a long-time fervent fan /in-spe girlfriend of Sonic's (who I think has potential to be a lot more than what they've made her today).

And I can't quite express how happy I am to hear I played a part in getting you into art again, that just about lights me up inside. :)

I still draw, our scanner broke and I have no idea when I'll be able to get another one >.< I write lots though...I'm getting back into Rock and Roll fantasy atm, now that I've caught the writing bug again.

They do, don't they?! :D And there's great potential in the interaction, too. Both are spirited, hard-headed and good fighters, and it would be fun to see Emmy's reaction to seeing some of Sonic's traits in a girl.

Actually working on a shoujo-ai/yuri between Blaze and Cream a few years later in their life. Cream is 18 and Blaze is about 25. But until my computer is fixed next week I can't do a whole lot sadly. Looking forward to building their relationship from the ground up! But man if I could draw my series like your style, I would seriously squeal like a girl! (I am sooo into shoujo-ai, but either what I read doesn't grip me, or it's WAY too short.) But I guess my style will have to do for now.

I am experiencing connection excitement over here. X3 Blaze and Cream is one of my favorites, I'm working on turning one of my sketches into a finished work this weekend (the sky and some surrounding flowers are taking time, I got ambitious about it, haha).

Looking forward to building their relationship from the ground up!
^This is what gets me hooked on a pairing. I'm prep-working for a pretty big fanfic, including laying out plans for how to build the relationships. It's such a special feeling to "follow" and puzzle together how two character might grow closer and how it affects them and their relationships with other people, all that. :)
The main pairing of that fic would be Sonic and Shadow; a relationship that would take time and trials to come about, even if there is initial attraction. To write my way through the stages requires fingertip feeling and tons of re-working, but it's so rewarding.

Cream and Blaze is another that builds slowly, but I think it would happen with less friction. I see a parallel to Cream's innocense in Blaze's likely lack of social experience... So they could sort of meet half-way with time. There's all these little details and differences, too, like Blaze's fear of heights, and the fact Cream can fly.

Most existing fan fics and original works don't "hit" me right, either... With fan fics, usually because I just don't recognize the characters, and many stories seem too bland, not using the characters' personalities much. Sometimes, it's like the writer had thought "well, it's girls, that's enough for a personality, right?" (same for "yaoi" fics, really).

Probably the most detailed reply I will EVER receive, and it was wonderful to read! I don't read yaoi, but my wife does everynow and then. I certainly respect a male x male relationship however, and I wish you the best of luck in you Sonic x Shadow works! I will support most ships, and even if I don't, I still let it be.

And I got a watch from you? That was very nice of you! I know a lot of my work is foot fetish related but it's not the only thing I draw. But yes, Blaze and Cream relationships make me giggle to myself, not manly at all! XD I will try my best at trying to follow their personalities closely. Thinking of Blaze being a loner, perhaps a small little ranch house away from the city. Cream I am having some trouble trying to pick a life style for her that would fit her. If you had any ideas/opinions I would love to hear them! It's not often I make friends with someone who appreciate Yuri for more than just "Hey sexy lesbians!".

I feel the need to say I don't watch you to be "nice". ;p I watch you because I don't want to miss any Cream /Blaze stuff you might post, because you're fun to talk to and because your style is cute in general. (And while I may not be as big a foot fan as you, I do like them.)
I may not comment on more than a few pictures people draw (mostly because phrasing myself is tiring, communication can be hard for me for long periods at a time) but I can still enjoy seeing them fly by, if you get my drift. Seeing different styles and topics helps my own creativity.

Phhh I am not sure I got my USB with me, but I'll check for the notes I made on Blaze and Cream for fan fic purposes. I couldn't make Blaze's official backstory /profiles add up, so I tweaked it.
My take on Cream, big strokes, has her growing up with Vanilla, home-schooled and rather sheltered, which at once preserves a very innocent outlook and makes her unprepared for a lot of attitudes and situations outside that safe sphere. So it might take a few shocks and crashes before she adjusts to venturing out more, though in the end, her view to people would prevent her from becoming too disillusioned with them, or the world.
I could see her grow up to be a gardener or similar, and /or take care of animals. (I can't help making parallels with Fluttershy, even though Cream is way more extroverted and self-confident. X3)

Well I like your point of view with Cream honestly. I haven't showed any progress on my story sadly as my computer is still without a motherboard... But my view is slightly similar, having highschool be her only public schooling. Blaze is difficult to structure. I know she has to look after the Sol Emeralds which I guess she returned them to her Dimension I suppose. I don't remeber the ending to Sonic Rush that well. Perhaps I could make it that she can't return to her world herself or something.

But I would love to hear you ideas of course! Since I want to make this story last and have a ton of obstacles for the two to over-come. Hell, I even concidered making it last till they adopt a kid or two. (hides face) oh god these two! Anyways, I noted you with some more info about myself if you cared to read up on it. But yeah are there any other ships Sonic-wise you enjoy? Or any kind, doesn't have to be just the Sonic series.
