Generation 1 My Little Pony “Twice as Fancy Buttons” redesigned as a custom generation 3 creation in the Japanese harajuku style.

Head and body are engineered. Body from a walking pose, head of a Star Catcher.

Full body repaint job in custom-hand blended acrylics. Mixed lime green, metallic peridot green (a shiny olive green), and various dark to light yellow pigments to achieve Button’s yellow/green hue. Paint layered in about 8 layers. This took a lot.

Eyes hand-painted. Horn is a metal spike pendant with a loop at the end of it. I threaded the loop inside the scalp and anchored it in with thick wire. It’s going nowhere.

Mane and tail are re-rooted in dollyhair pony hair in the color waternixie. Pigtails are permanently styled and hardened in my hair gel method.

For Button’s body decal, I decided to do her button symbols 3-D with actual buttons with pink hemp cord bows tied through them. Leggings all have neon pink faux fur sewn at the tops; trimmed it down quite a bit from its original length.
Bias tape, maxi piping, and various ribbons were used on the leggings. Beads sewn on, embellished with rhinestones. Head piece mostly consists of the beads strung on floral wire and wrapped around the hair.
