fasttrack37d is a relatively recent discovery. 'round the end of April. Now, this was one of those rare artists who had a naughty / mature-rated price sheet that I couldn't see (my default setting is GA-only -- I don't even use the SFW button, for reasons elucidated in previous journals). But I so very much liked his few PG submissions that I figured it would be worth a deeper look. So I went into my account settings, toggled the thing, and peeked. Yep, lots of porn. Whooooole lotta porn. And the price sheet, too. But worthy prices for this work! And I wanted to expand his PG line-up, so ... SOLD!Right, so here we have Rooth'roo, apparently spiking Aram's tea ceremony. And she thought he was being all serious when he said he wanted to learn more about her Rokugani heritage. Foolish roo! Don't you realize that Aram is particularly susceptible to these kinds of things? And particularly easy to set-off (as in, easily angered, about certain things).
Oh ... FastTrack got a couple of very minor details wrong in this one initially. Rooth'roo didn't have a heel pad like he should, and his smallest toe was on the wrong side. He fixed it, SUPER FAST! Living up to that "fasttrack37d" name, I guess. :) (not sure what the 37d is all about)

To each their own, of course, but he had no qualms at all about drawing GA stuff. Or if he did, he didn't voice them to me. And people are giving his submission plenty of faves, so .. it's all good. :)
One thing's for sure .. I'd love another commission from him someday. Not sure how I got lucky enough to get these two -- seems like the kind of artist that would fill up lightning fast when he opens for commissions.

I would love to see more PG art around on FA :) I had been thinking about offering PG related stuff just so that anyone that isn't a furry or wanted to watch an art stream and not be bombarded by NSFW stuff could just hang out while I work. I discovered with join.me that it is actually fun to stream :) and it doesn't slow down my computer any to do it! Plus I want people to know me as a regular artist... not a porn artist :C
Some artists do a lot of porn because they love it. But some do it because that's the kind of crowd they have gathered, and so they don't get much (if any) GA commissions. If I could detect those artists, I'd be more likely to commission them, to help them diversify their gallery and possibly attract more GA customers. But unless it's blatantly obvious, such artists go largely unnoticed by me because I don't see any submissions from them in my submission feed, since all their adult stuff is filtered out. Thus, having the GA filter set all the time is great, but it has its drawbacks.
I can definitely understand that :) Most of my stuff anymore is porn and I have a love hate relationship with it, I can't just cut it out of my commissions because they are mainly all I get anymore and would be worse off than I am without them. If I could get the same amount of GA/PG commissions as I do for porn I would be really happy :) but I realize that people come to FA because of the porn more than anything else... such a shame :( I'm glad to see that you commission GA stuff though <3 it is refreshing compared to a lot of stuff that pops up in my inbox
^_^
I should clarify that I don't think the porn itself is bad. I watch artists on streams a lot, and sometimes they draw porn, and sometimes I don't turn it off unless the subject matter really squicks me, but I won't hold that against the artist in question. I've witnessed some mature pics that I rather like, and would fave, if it made any sense to do so given how I usually have my filter set.
But I'm not sure I agree with the notion that "people come to FA because of the porn more than anything else". Pick a topic, say "dragons", and do an FA search for it. Note the document count. Then do the same search with the GA filter turned on, and note the document count. Do it again for other topics, like "wolf" or "feline" or whatever. It's been a while since I did this experiment, but I think it's about a 2:1 ratio favoring GA submissions. FA might have a lot more porn on it than some other popular art sites, and so what you said might be true to a certain extent, but GA art still dominates. Point being, if your ratio of GA:Porn is much less than the site average, then it's probably because your clientele as a whole has interests out of proportion with the site average. Not to say that's a bad thing -- whatever keeps you in business is great, and I don't think you should ever cut porn completely out of your repertoire. But there's probably an untapped source of GA commissioners out there that you could benefit from without worry of losing your base. :)

You have a very valid point there, I stand corrected ;) I think my main problem is that I don't have a whole lot of exposure... at one point in time I thought it was a very good thing, to let people randomly come across my art on their own and share with their friends. Of course that was before I started using commissions as my income ;)
