Cradle of a Titan Goddess
I had very simple directions from 
VDO on this commission. They essentially amounted to: "Draw a city built in an old mega macro pawprint."
Naturally, the first idea to come to mind was a landlocked print that made some deep valleys or canyons. Then I remembered some of
Stampy's work with seaside pawprints and decided to build a harbor city around a coastal pawprint.
This was a lot of fun and got lots of hand cramps from this. It's tiny, measured only in a few inches by a few inches. Yah, had an epic fun time with this mechanical pencil drawing done at home this time rather than work.
Anyone who knows me knows I hate being commissioned the same stuff as everyone else. Some of those carbon copy commissioners ought to be slapped. I don't care if its their money to spend. It's a boring waste of an artist I watch's time. And when it comes to macro artists, those are often times long projects so that is a lot of time locked up in each picture.
So I thank VDO for giving me this wonderfully different and clever theme to work with.
Another thing that excites me about this piece is that it is abstract enough of an erotic/fetish piece, that I could enter something similar (larger and slightly more refined) in a professional art competition.
Don't think that is far fetched either. Know that my paw/shoe fetish picture, Digitigrade: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9855707/ remains the only picture I've drawn to win best in show in a professional art competition. So I beat professional artists that make a living off of drawing with it. I've lost with spacescapes, seascapes, landscapes, pointillism, typography, other anthros, cartoons and abstract, most never placed.
Make a fetish picture smart enough and you can go far with it if you play it smart. Of much of the trashy themed content I draw and post here, the occassional pic like this is one of the most rewarding experiences I can have.
