So a friend challenged me to make a brownie cake with my pawprint pan, and at first I didn't think it was possible. Brownies stick to everything, and I wasn't about to gouge up my shiny pan trying to get stuck in brownies out.
But then I remembered a trick from my Joy of Cooking book, where you rub Crisco on the pan, then dust the Crisco with flour. It worked! I pried the brownie edges away from the pan with my finger, and then tipped it upside down with a plate over the pan opening.
Plop! It came right out! How's that for home cooking?
