Having just finished a graduate seminar course on the Holocaust that focused heavily on child victims, this picture immedietly made me flash to all the photos of Jewish, Polish, and Romani children, the look of despondence and confusion....

It's interesting how colours (or the lack thereof) can completely change the energy of the picture. Had you drawn all the characters in equal saturation of colour I don't think it'd have such a powerful statement. If this is a reflection of how you're feeling, I honestly hope that things get better for you soon ;__;

I really like this because it reminds me of how I feel when I try to wear something nice or new, I put it on and think "yeah, ok I guess I can try this" the I slowly build up my courage and make myself feel better about it like "yeah, i might actually look good in this" and sometimes I even get to the point of "Wow yeah I look great in this" then I go out in public with said outfit and that's were I become a bit uncomfortable because I notice tiny little things like oh this might seem odd on me, or "oh geez people probably think i'm trying too hard" and it sort of goes downhill till someone says one slightly bad comment and then I never want to wear said outfit again....

I agree with everyone on here, this picture is amazing. Even though its a vent and sad, the way you portray emotions is so on key! I was just telling my boyfriend about artists who do this well and you were an example. (i showed him the poofy shirt hug of Merystic and the horse character) So. In short, youre awesome, keep up the amazing work and let this rain cloud pass. :)

Aww thank you ; ; I'm glad that I can convey emotions in art...not that I want to make other people sad or anything but it's nice to get it out there in art form for others to see and understand and empathize with and even relate to sometimes

Its a very good skill to posses :) Whether it be sad or happy, emotional portrayal is important! -keep up the great work :)

Idk if this is the case for you, but I find it to be the most relieving way to release emotion without accidentally hurting anyone with the negative ones. It's good to see artists who aren't afraid to show that they're human rather than just going through the motions

Hope this doesn't sound strange...I would love to see this become animated. And in this 2D cartoon type too. Like everything starts off bright and pretty and happy, but things start dying down and fading to shades of grey, then things turn for the worse and become more stark and black....but at some point, a small, almost insignificant dot of light appears, and things at some point become all right again.
...I dunno, I'm just throwin' words out here...but it'd be one of those storylines where things are bright, then things start going dark, then very dark, and then at some point a tiny bit brighter with a sense of everything will be okay.

Every now and then I re-stumble across this and it always makes me want to cry. It's just.. the emotion captured in this is just heart-wrenching. Beautiful. Sad, but beautiful.

I recently got a job that requires Dress Casual and Business professional attire. Being able to go and buy dresses for me and me alone to wear to work and wearing them more often has really started to help with not only my opinion of myself in such things, but my confidence over all ^.^
