I like it. It says "I spent 2 hours on this background and by god you are going to look at it."

On a less silly note, is this a take on Narcissus? It looks sort of Grecian (is that a toga?) to me and like he's staring into the water.

hahah exactly! though i spent around 5 hours on it tbh haha maybe i need to work on my efficiency

I originally had 8 hours in the sentence, it has been guess-work from the start and I have no concept of how long it takes to make nice things.
It comes across so well, even with just a silhouette. I can't wait to see it completed!

Seriously, beautiful background. Wonderful lighting. I'm in love with the seeming simplicity of the brushstrokes used to build up the ivy/trees/bushes.
