The flying bomb viper is my idea of what the Colonial fleet would do with decommissioned and heavily damaged vipers. They would be loaded with explosives and towed behind a normal viper towards it's target, then the lead viper will detach tow cables, allowing the unmanned fighter to impact with the enemy target.
