Another commission from the amazingly talented and awesome best little sister ever
roxylittlepaw
This time an early Father's Day commission for my Dad
swiftfox
Let me set the stage for you. As kids growing up we're taught to respect and revere firefighters for their sacrifices and their duty to protect our lives in some of the most insanely dangerous situations. But, when one is your own Dad, I hold an even deeper respect for them.
The scene stands. Late night. Some godawful hour in the why do we have earlier than 6am anyway range...Swift, my father, comes home from a fire call. Sure, he's beat, he's tired, he may have even been through hell and back. But he still slips into my nursery to check up on me and make sure I'm sleeping peacefully and without a worry in the world. That was expertly captured by my sister in this pic and I bow to her for that.
In fact, if you look at the nursery wall, the Plusle and Minun wall cutouts...symbolize Roxy and I as brother/sister. That's family for ya. :)
But really, with Father's Day coming up, I wanted something truly special for Swift. He has been a true parent to me. More so than my own blood family (which okay isn't saying much but seriously). Swift has been there to keep me sane and keep me going and has been doing so for years before even officially taking up the mantle of "Dad" until about Christmastime of 2010.
The guy had seen me move out to Ohio, seen me get my car and drivers license, go through college with my Associate's degree, get various jobs, become a pro wrestler, move back to Missouri, get out of my mom's house and is trying to help me ultimately finish college so I can become a teacher. He is the supportive parent I've always needed but never had growing up and this guy is seriously raising...er..re raising me right
I cannot possibly thank him enough for this but I hope in some small way, this helps.
I love you Dad. I hope someday to be as awesome of a son to you as you've been a Dad to me.
Only the best for the Best In The World.
