A few hours later....

“Uhg I can’t stand this! I need something to distract me.” I said, as I began searching my data files. As I thumbed through them I found one I already read, Rue.
Rue is the metal that makes up the internal part of my body, it keeps my soul bound to it so I may live forever, I can warp and twist my body anyway I wish. It also generates Rah, the energy that when combined with Aura will banish the Rift energy from the universe, the bigger the universe the more Aura needed. Also, the amount Aura has to be more than the amount of Rift energy. Aura is given off by the protector or protectors of that respective universe. Good to know information.
“But how do I find it?!”
“You okay Alchemist?” said Cat.
“I’m fine, I’m just looking for...oh!” There it was, as I had said it, how to find it. A scanner in my eye panels. It can detect both Aura and Rift as two different colors, Red for Rift and Blue for Aura. I quickly use this to scan around the area.

Tina ... Zero Rift, Low Aura
Matoh ... Zero Rift, Zero Aura
Lex ... Zero Rift, Dwindling Aura due to rate, estimated max, very high.
“Lex!” I shouted.
“What? What about him, he is still trying to recover.”
“He’s dieing!”
“What?!”
“I just scanned the rooms for Aura and Rift, he has the most Aura, and is losing it, meaning he has to be dieing!”
Without thinking I burst through the door.
“What are you doing in here Alchemist?” asked Froz
I didn’t answer I just hopped up on the table next to Lex.
Come on, come on, I need medical knowledge, anything! Just give me something to fix him! Suddenly, his chest was highlighted, zoomed in on, and showed a small bit of shrapnel approaching his heart in an X-ray. Quickly I used my alchemy to turn the shrapnel to air, and pricked him so it could escape. I ran another scan.
Lex ... Zero Rift, Raising Aura
“What did you do Alchemist?” asked Tec.
“I just saved his life, you didn’t notice a small bit of shrapnel approaching his heart in your scans.”
“What?!” all three said. I then proceeded to explain what just happened.
“That’s-” Franz began to say, but was cut off.
“NO!” suddenly darkness enveloped me, I could see nothing save for my own body. “I REFUSE TO LET YOU STEAL ANOTHER FROM ME!!!” came from a booming voice.
I turned, and saw a giant demon, wrapped in a shroud of pure darkness that separated itself from the area behind it, by causing it to be brighter by comparison. His hands and face whitest bone, with gleaming red eyes.
“HOW DARE YOU!”
“What did I do, I was only protecting my friends!”
“YOU EVADED ME, SAVED YOUR ‘FRIEND’, THE ROO, AND THEN HAD THE AUDACITY TO NOT EVEN A DAY LATER SAVE ANOTHER FROM MY GRASP?!”
“Sorry, but I can’t let you take him!”
“DAMN YOU!, EVEN NOW YOUR EXISTENCE MOCKS ME.”
“My existence?”
“YES, THAT CURSED METAL YOU USE TO EVADE ME, I WILL STOP YOU FROM LEAVING HERE!”
Rue, this must be Death himself, he cannot catch me, and I saved two friends from his grasp. Now he’s attacking me!
He raised his mighty scythe, a black and silver pole with a long sharp blade with intricate carvings, and some kind of engraving on it’s hilt. He swings.
I can’t move! Why can’t I move!
“YOU WILL NOT GET AWAY!”
The blade it comes close, but doesn’t connect.
“WHAT?!”
He tried to strike me again, but it passed right through me.
“HOW?!”
If he is Death, he must separate the soul from the body, My soul is fused to my body stronger than that of normal people due to the Rue, he can’t steal my soul!
“WHY?!” He swings at me about twenty times, but all of them pass right through my body. “CURSE YOU! THAT DAMNED METAL!”
“So it seems we have come to an impasse Death, you don’t want me to leave, but I can’t be harmed by you, and can’t stay here. What are we going to do?”
“I WILL GET MY PAYMENT FROM YOU!”
“I refuse to let my friends die!”
“THEN I WILL FORCE YOU TO GIVE ME MY TRIBUTE!”
“How?”
“TAKE THIS!” he shrinks his scythe, turning it to something about my size and holds it out in front of me.
“Hah! You want me to do your job, fat chance!”
“LIKE YOU HAVE A CHOICE!” It disappeared, turning into pure purple energy, the energy then envelops me and vanishes.
“What did you do?!”
“I FUSED MY SCYTHE WITH YOU, NOW WHENEVER YOU GROW ENRAGED, YOU SHALL SUMMON IT AND BE FORCED TO USE IT TO KILL THINE FOES!!!”
Before I could respond, the darkness begins to lift, and I’m back in the same room as before, with Franz, Tina, Lex, and Tec.
“-amazing.” said Franz. “You have to let me get a copy of that scanner, to promote advance in the field of medicine.”
I look around, it’s as if nothing had ever happened, had I actually seen the face of death?
“Something wrong Alchemist, you look worried?” said Tina.
She was right, I saw in a mirror I was slightly pale, I didn’t know I could do that.
“No, I-I’m fine, Lex should be fine, I’m gonna go do another scan of the entire universe for any kind of Rift energies.”
I left the room, and just as I said I did another scan, this time just for Rift energies on every planet.
Planet Tec ... Zero Rift

Planet Earth* ... HIGH Rift
“Oh my god!”
“What is it Alchemist?” said Cat.
“There is a huge amount of Rift energy coming from Earth! More than I even calculated was Aura energy in Lex.”
“That’s bad I take it?”
“Extremely.”
“You want a change before we go?”
I looked down and saw I needed one, probably caused by my meeting ‘Death’. “Please. Also, I’m hungry.”
She changed my diaper, and we were about to board a ship, but before we did.
“Excuse me Alchemist?” said Tec, “I notice you are trying to go to the Federation homeworld, Earth.”
“And?”
“Well, its just that I had upgraded your toy train while I was repairing Cat. Would you mind getting it out for him Cat?”
“Sure.” she pulled out the toy train, small metal, painted black with gold trimming. It looked like a smokestack train, and had 3 cars. On top of the main cabin there was a small red button.
“Push the button Alchemist, then drop it.” said Tec.
I did as he asked, and it made a click sound before it hit the ground. Once it did, suddenly it grew to the size of a normal train!
“Wow!” Cat and I said in unison.
“Impressive isn’t it? One of the carts is a kitchen cart, one is a bedroom cart, and one I setup for your specific needs, much like a nursery. It also is capable of interdimensional travel, the console has a record of all the universes I have observed. It can fly through space with the same if not greater speed than any federation ship. The controls are mind based, you place your paws on the console and think where you want to go, it will take you there. It has a memory for past locations, push a button and go. Autopilot standard.”
“Cool, thanks Tec!”
“You’re Welcome!”
Cat and I boarded the train, we went to the nursery, and she gave me a change, as I drank my bottle. She headed back to the passenger cart, and I went to the engine. I found the console, placed my paws on it and told it to take me to space, and then Earth. It took off, and away we went.
