Thought i'd better post something anthro before i get shot! ;>
This is a WIP based on a very old unfinished pic from around '78....(original was just guy, little dragon, and "house"...A homage to roger Dean.
Then i reworked the composition a couple years ago....Then i reworked it even more. It's an experiment in painting in grey tone only as a starting process - because if something 'reads' well in grey it is likely to work rather well in colour.
Here i have just colourized the layers and tossed in a few other colour areas....i post stages of pic once it's finished in a few months.

****Face palm**** Yeah, that's what's missing! Design like an album cover - main elements on right should fit into a square composition ( 12x12 " as it were) and elements on left work by themselves in another square, and unfold and they make one picture....i can do this without much work and it make a better composition! Thanks!
Wow, I hadn't thought about that - you're totally right, and I'm actually a little too young in this case to have been around for album covers designed as wrap-around scenes. That actually puts some of the Dean and Rodney Matthews stuff in a new light - I should go back and look again.
