A lot of furries put on fursuits to let their animal out. But then again, there are times where you wear a skin suit to keep your animal in.

This is self portrait I did as an art project for Intermediate Drawing. The subject assigned was 'story of light or darkness'. This one is obviously a story of darkness.

I suppose at some point every furry must feel like this. We walk around every day knowing what we are and maybe worrying that others will find out. Or maybe we fear that they can already see through the meager disguise we've adopted. I know I have felt this way many times.

It's also very much a work about hiding your feelings, keeping things bottled up, and not being able to properly express yourself. I'm sure the rabbit underneath would be a lot less frightening if he just took off that mask...
