Here it is! My best work to date. Some of you older watchers may remember that I have a tradition, where every December 21st I redraw the very first picture/character I drew. That first image was the first thing I drew that led me to where I am today. I'd doodled things before but I never was serious with art, nor did I stick with it... until that first image that I drew on December 21st 2004. I've yet to miss a year, although I've been late with the deadline twice in a row now... frankly, when this is the end result, i can't complain. I put my all into this piece, and I think it shows, even if I now thing I could have done some things better with it.

This is Azial WaveWhistler, she's a member of a race called the Shior. They're a small population of Shark-like people that live on one group of islands. Most of the other races of Kalier think them a myth, but they're very much real and true. The Shior were originally fae (immortal spirits), but they gave up their immortal nature to become mortal, so that they might set right the damage that the Kalithe (who were also once fae but became mortal thousands of years ago).

Azial is an adventurous girl born to common parents... or so she thinks and so she's been told. Her mother, and all of Azial's relative before her on her mom's side have been the bearer's of "The Tear", a mystical aqua coloured, tear shaped gem with magical powers to return the abilities of the Fae to it's wearer. But Azial doesn't know this right aways. ;) Eventually she finds out, but that's all part of her story.

The shark head in the back is Azial's "shark" form, which may be a natural ability of the Shior, or the magic of the Tear
