Here are some more designs for aircraft from that world. The heliocopter is flown by a character who I've only seen so far in the openings of the dreams. He is a Bear flying for the West German Luftwaffe. Yes, sad to say but in this world the wall has not yet come down. The other aircraft is a British recon design that is flying from its three supercarriers Victory, Inflexible, Illustrious. In this world the Royal Navy and RAF didn't get left out to dry after WWII.

I love that helicopter, it's design looks very sleek. Although something about it's shape bothers me, given that at high speeds that thign's should sort of incline forward to move, yet all it's aerodynamics look like they're built towards straight-forward movement... or even hydronynamic motion.
It looks kickass nonerthelees

Those helicopters look like a mean cross between an AH-64D Apache, an RAH-66 Comanche, with a touch of AH-56 Cheyenne thrown in for some serious speed.
The biggest beef I have is that the wings and (especially) the wing armaments absolutely ruin the stealth capability of the helicopter. It really isn't worth making a stealthy helicopter that has exposed munitions. For example, a single Hellfire missile has a larger radar cross section than that of the entire Comanche helicopter.

The wings are removable depending on misson requirements. If more payload is needed than the wings could be added. If steatlh becomes an absolute then the wings could be removed in the field. I've even seen a RAH-66 proposal for such a system. Besides this is a Attack heliocopter first and Recon second so they were willing to sacrafice some RCS for warload capacity.
I've never really thought that the "stealth for armor and payload" tradeoff was a good one for helicopters to take in the first place. Their biggest enemy is still small arms and infrared guided weapons. Which, now that I think about it, may even be a larger problem.
I guess what I was really trying to point out that since this is first and foremost an attack helicopter, then spending the extra mass and space (not too mention the money) on making it stealthy is pretty much wasted 90% of the time. The RAH-66 needed removable wings so that it could get a dramatic increase in potential roles. I don't see this helicopter getting too many additional roles just because it can lower its RCS at the expense of payload.
Actually this has gotten me thinking about the video of helicopters done to the tune of Thunderstruck. :)
