This is a USAF Phantom 3 Fighterbomber that exists the A&K universe. While originally created to be a stealthly, deep interdiction aircraft it is now often being used for a very different task. Since it has an excellent rate climb it also being used to launch ASAT-like missiles to intercept alien dropships as they come down in ballistic reentry.

Nice Work. reminds me of the movie STEALTH http://www.sonypictures.com/homevideo/stealth/ and this image http://www.allmoviephoto.com/photo/.....ealth_017.html
Yeah this is world where the 1972 ABM Treaty never really took hold, so there was a lot more study into space warfare.
Of course it is also a world where Russians, not the Soviets, made it to the moon so we had a much more aggressive space program. There was even a Werner Von Braun-like ring space station built! It got taken out in about the first five minutes of actually combat though. Earth has lost all of its space assets to the aliens. Bye, bye GPS.

Sort of defeats the purpose of a stealthy aircraft to have external hardpoints, though, doesn't it? That's one of the things that has made the recent US designs so chunky through the fuselage -- putting all of the ordnance inside the airframe until time to expend it. Other than that, it's a nice design, reminiscent of some of the blue-sky German designs at the end of WWII, like the He P.1078 B and C.
