Shine of the wolf's night
This is a quite overdue picture and early birthday picture (for July 6th) for my wonderful sis and friend
Kira, my lovely little sis and one of the best friends I could ever think of.
It shows her main character Trayton, a quite beefy, young, moon-loving and night-active wolf.
In the background there's my fursona Demi enjoying a walk along the beach... on a warm summer night along a beach, somewhere in a fantasy universe... <3
All drawn traditional with markers, soft-crayon and white acrylics (for the shine effects) on "perfect coloring" paper with a silky surface, and I can tell, thats the paper I will use for more future artworks ^w^
Anyways, I hope you like it very much <3

Heehee, now I see a few things that I notice evolving in your works, dear bro
Apart from the characters themselves, which are always incredibly ripped to shreds , I notice a couple of muscle details that aren't in your other much older works <3
That would be the beyond-vertical bicep cliff head. You know what I'm talking about, though others might not ... And the second would be the sinewy indentation on the side of the outer quadriceps <3... something that can only be seen in the leanest bodybuilders ... and it reminds me of the bicep C-imprint too. >w<
Spectacular work on the background too~ You make such beautiful nightscapes. >w<...
Heehee, and the Demi right over there is pretty sexy too <3... there's something about the chest construction that I find very attractive in his particular design.

Rawrr thank you dear sis... I must say, it's partly you who inspired me too, to increase my muscle details this way since the day I saw your art on DA back then ^w^
Also all the anatomy sheets and books I looked through shows a huge lot of helpful stuff... plus some good videos of bodybuilders working out which teached me a lot of muscle movements <3

Fantastic work as always, dear bro ;3
Trayton looks awesome in your style, no surprise there, and like I said to you before, there's something you did about DJ this time that makes him look a little older. It's the jaw I think, it's a little more angular this time, but I like this look ^^

*Furvus howls*...oh, sorry...wolf reaction to the moonlight you know ;) This is another muscle fur masterpiece indeed bro :) You know that I love all of your works, but the ones depicted at night are some of my faves by you because of all of the great shading and use of this in the moonlight *Furvus howls again* (I really have to stop him from doing that ;)). As always, the detail and colors are amazing...Trayton looks awesome and DJ does also...and it looks like DJ is a bit lost in thought by the look on his muzzle...or perhaps just enjoying the nice evening walk on the beach :) This is a wonderful B-Day gift also for Kira and I'm sure that she'll love it...very thoughtful of you to make such a great gift for sure bro :)
X3 totally speechless.. you are so amazing at character work and coloring. I have so much to learn still. It really means a lot to me that you would spend so much time and effort on this for me. It is very beautiful and you captured Trayton's character so well. Every time I see a new piece from you it seems to get better every time. You are just so amazing, and a very very sweet and kind brother. I'm so lucky to have you as a friend and mentor <3 and I hope we can stay good friends for a very long time. You are very much like family to me, and I only wish that it were possible to spend actual time with you and do artwork together. I've been striving to be as good as you, but you keep getting better xP I would tell you to stop out of selfishness, but I really don't want you to stop or slow down. You are absolutely amazing. And your artwork is so beautiful and definitely your own unique style. I'm so lucky to have you in my life and it means so much to me that you would do this. I love you so much. <3 xoxo
I am really happy you like it so very much my dear sis, That's the "mission" of the pic, making you smile and all happy <3
You may have to learn some stuff still, but your skills increased dramatically within just a few years which is really impressive, you totally shaped your style really awesomely as well. <3
I also wish I could spend actual time with you and UTX too by that chance, since you two live so close to each other. ^^
About stopping to get better, you wish, dont you? XP
But you cant stop that, it comes automatically while drawing, with my art but also with yours, and you keep getting better too and dare you to stop drawing ;p
You're a true family member for me as well and love you just as much, you're one of the most awesome sisters I ever had, together with Elly <3

Well, you've been busy the last days! And look what you've done!! ^___^
Since I'm not feeling so well right now, I hope that you can overlook possible mistakes in grammar or spelling. ^^"
But I'll start my "novel-comment" right now, anyway.
First of all, this picture is interesting, because it offers a lot of new possibilities. There are parts, where you could follow your "comfort zone" (beefy-muscle-guys), but also try something VERY new - such as the setting and background.
Let me start on the characters first.
When I saw the first sketch of Trayton, I thought he was a K-9, hehehehe... at least he looked this way. Maybe, because of his tail... I dunno. But hey, a wolf isn't so far away from a K-9, after all! :3
Still, we can see that this is what you can do best and what you DO best: a beefy stud, complete with a well build muscle-body! Though he seems to be posing and flexing his biceps muscle for us, he also appears to be walking along the street - which is not the "usual" poser you're known for. You know what I'm talking about: the "usual" body-building-posers are nice, but that's nothing NEW to you. And these kind of poser artworks can get boring in time; so it's VERY good that you're trying to "spice it up" with additional details (such as Demian here), new and stunning backgrounds and all the little details, which make your artwork "alive".
So, what's so "new" about Trayton this time?
Well, first of all he's not a fox AND his overall design plus colouring looks quite differnet from your other drawings. I like this very natural colour palette: brownish tones and white-gray colours. The fur textures and colours work very well here and though it's a dark setting, he seems to shine enough to look splendid. ^^
As I mentioned before, his body is excellent, well build and his muscles don't really look different from your "DJ"... well, maybe his legs. I think Trayton has less "bulky" legs than DJ. But his torso and arms can surely compete with the arctic muscle fox!! :3
I like how Trayton gazes at the viewer... self-confident and quite intense.
DJ Darkfox is surely a pretty addition, but I'll talk about him later in the comment. Something I have recognized... his rip muscle (Sägemuskel?) looks very intense... this is because of the very hard line, eh?
Anyway, DJ looks a lot more beefy and stronger than before! XD His arms... are real HAMMERS!! Woah. Anvil! Anvils made of flesh, hehehehehe. I'm sure that it was NOT easy drawing DJ this small... compared to Trayton.
The BACKGROUND is maybe even better than the characters, hehehehe. Why? Because it's a realy cool, well drawn scene, which I have NOT seem from you so often. Furthermore, it's very difficult to draw scenes at night... and you did it.
First of all, I LOVE how you've done the half moon and the ocean (sea shore) here. IF I had to cut a part from the artwork for myself... it would be the part of the moon, DJ, sea shore and beach. Yes, this part works even for itself!
The green hills in the background look great with the shine of the moon and the soft clouds are a good addition, as well.
The city, with tower, building and street, looks really nice and the city is following all the rules of perspective. Also, the colouring is most fitting and though the city is not pulling all the attention to itself, it STILL IS an important detail of this artwork!
BUT I love the water effect of the dark sea shore most!!! ^_____^
From my experience (and because it's really a difficult scene to draw), I have to point out some small flaws here, which you will undoubtfully do better next time!
Sorry, I have to list it up point by point... it's hard to write it in a complete text.
DJ DARKFOX
There are three little aspects about DJ.
First of all, I have the feeling that his body has become way more huge and bulky here... BUT this could be the fault of his trousers, hehehe. He looks like a "battle-ram"... like a coloss! Like I said... his very big, fluffy tail, the trousers and his great arms could have given me the impression, that he is quite... the giant! XD
Or maybe, he just is! ^__^"
But there's something else... I'm afraid he's not really taking part in this composition here. Sure, he fits and doesn't looks "useless"... but he's not even LOOKING at Trayton, which would have added a great and important connection between them. You know, I find it highly important, that most characters in the same artwork have a kind of connection and... well, DJ is just walking handsomly along the beach... not really paying attention about anything. A smal smirk on his part would've been cool... or at least some eye-contact. ^^"
And I have the feeling that his feet are WAY TOO HUGE! He reminds me of Ryu from "Streetfighter IV" - this 3D model has huge feet, too... look:
http://storage.siliconera.com/wordp.....07/12/sfiv.jpg
The trousers really improve this impression!
Just a feeling of mine.
THE STREET
The street looks a bit distorted... by intention or accident. It looks more like a ground loop (Steilkurve) from a racing track. The perspective doesn't really work here. I just wanted to point it out... but I also suck at perspective! XD
STREET LIGHTS
The lights on the right side looks like a "lighthouse" to me, because of the "shooting shines" of light.
A round, radial shine would've been more realistic here! I don't think that these street lights CAN turn or spin... eh? ;) Sure, I see that there is a "pod" on the glass and the light can only shine from two sides... still, a round shine might have looked better.
STARS
I've learned that drawing stars is NOT easy! It can happend that... they appear like "snow flakes", if you draw them too quickly or in a hurry. I just advise you to be calm and pay more attention to the stars, too. After all, when you hurry, it never looks good. I just assume that the stars were your LAST step in the drawing process... right? But maybe, you should wait a few hours (or a day) to complete the artwork with more concentration. Some stars really look like snow flakes (right corner). Just don't hurry here, please. ^^"
Oh, and the stars around Trayton's right arm... look like if they're spinning around his arm... just like... if his arm had some kind of "magical power". Just don't "overdo" it with the stars in an area, where you have a lot of details already! Trayton's arm doesn't need some stars to "help" him looking cool... his arm already IS cool! ^^
These are all MINOR aspects and not real "flaws"... it's something I would've done differently, that's all.
But I'm sure you want me to speak my mind and to give you additional pointers for the future.
We both can still improve... and that's what good artists do, right? :3
I hope, you're not bored by the large comment. You spent a LOT of time drawing... and I had to spend a lot of time writing. This is only fair... because such a great traditional piece deserves a LONG comment!

Great comment as always RC :). You know, I noticed DJ looked this way also in the artwork...perhaps it's his off-season for bodybuilding and he's also training for strong fur events, so perhaps he put on a bit more mass for this the way Furvus did when he competed in such events :). I could be wrong though, hehe :)
Damn bro, when you said that you were working on a picture, I couldn't imagine it would come out amazing as this, I mean, I love how you can do any muscle pose without problems, and it always look perfect, and you never do a picture without a background, and you did shading and lighting very well, your background skills make me speechless~ Splendid work DJ ^^
Wow, big one... that's... amazing!
I love what you've done here, the corrections are amazing!
By looking at the street lights I can feel a real "sparkle" now, hehehehe... it's shining so brightly and nicely now. Very cool!
But the best part is that beautiful sky... this brilliant night, full of glowing and routating stars. It has a real feeling and some kind of "movement" to it.
Everything is more vibrant now.
Very, VERY well done!
