Don't know why, but this reminds me of trigun.

Maybe because he would possibly stumble out of the bushes acting drunk, and in a clumsy looking manner take out the leader before suddenly shooting the guns out of the hands of the others.

I remember using just that tactic in a tabletop game of judges verses perps. I placed 4 perps in shelter, spread out for cross fire, against one judge. Unfortunately the result of the battle depended on roling dice. The dice had some real fun.
