...I gagged reflexively as the front of the collar of my shirt garoted my throat. 'Well now I know how a dog must feel when it tries to exceed the length of it's leash...' I thought absently... then wondered at what could have possibly stopped my intended momentum to begin with.
There I had been, standing on the rooftop a good 30 stories up, looking down and finally working up the courage that would take me that literal one final step to ending it all.
The rooftop I had chosen had no out-jutting flagpoles or statuary... nothing that could have possibly halted my downward progress. Yet here I hung suspended, my head only a few feet lower than the ledge I'd just stepped from.
The darkness of night only held marginally at bay by the man-made glow of the various lights of the city around me and so whatever held me aloft was left somewhat ensconced in shadow between the lower secondary ledge and the upper one I'd just stepped from. The collar of my suit and shirt, hooked by whatever held me, were thus pulled up so far that I could scarecely turn my head, restricting what little peripheral view I could get.
Slowly I was turned by whatever held me however, as the night air drew rich with ozone. A storm coming in fast and hard as I even felt the first few drops against my cheeks as I was rotated, yet the sudden downpour into my frantic, upturned eyes would also serve to obscure my view of whatever it was that had at least prolonged my life monentarily if it hadn't saved me.
The rain drove down mercilessly as slowly I was hauled in closer to the building and finally, my eyes waterlogged, just made out the darker shadows of the crouched form in the surroundings. I was left speechless as the idea dawned on me that it was not a something but a someONE who had saved me... a someone who seemed unhampered by holding my full body weight aloft one-handed!
I squinted then... in curiousity and fear combined as these acute facts flashed through my mind. Then a low, barely audible growl arose over the faded sounds of the rain and the city as all my senses honed in on my would-be savior who seemed to be clearing his throat in preparation of speech. Narrowed eyes with an angry look seemed the first physical attribute that I noticed in the shadows... eyes that seemed aglow... then a brilliant flash of lightning disgaurded the night and I was able to catch a momentary full view of my savior just as he spoke the words that would forever change my life...
So here once again is the pic of the werewolf and the jumper, a bit more cleaned up and narrarated with the story that goes along with it... If I ever run with the entire story b'hind it it might make a great movie someday with what I have goin' with this as it's full storyline... there are big plans in the works for both characters and quite a few others besides them... as well as clarifications on many misconceptions about werewolves and their interactions with man so it promises ta be quite... entertaining... hope ya like how it's comin' along so far... :)

Weren't you the one that suggested that one of the things that sucks about being a werewolf is that because of the accelerated healing, you're always a virgin? Meaning that each time you bottom, it's like bottoming for the first time?
And at first, my sleep-addled mind saw a gargoyle. I had to look again. His body language hints at kindness...

yupyup... that was me heh...though I wasn't intendin' it as him thinkin' it sucks... just that that's somethin' that he's had ta get accustomed to from bein' a werewolf... yeah little things like that are also gonna part of that story... jus' some'a those odd lil' things ya tend ta think about when ya consider what or how normal existence would be for the life of such a being... :)
...and thanks... yeah the werewolf in this story and the human develope an unusual bond because of their initial encounter... the hint lies in the fact that the werewolf was up on that roof too... y'see... he is also suicidal... but what can ya do when yer a suicidal werewolf?... such a drop wouldn't kill him y'see... and although he'd be broken fer awhile he'd eventually mend... and how the realization of such things has only made him even more depressed and how he envies how even this simply release that humans take for granted is denied him... which is one reason why he stops the human jumper and they later go on having several discussions on various matters about the values of life and other such things... like I'd said... I really think this'd make a good movie if I ever get the ball rollin'...

I don't know... if you allow certain things like fire, acid, and silver to scar werewolves there is a way. But that falls more under torture and while that's a pretty good character development tool, I'm pretty certain no werewolf would go through it willingly. "For you, honey, I'm going to spend 8 hours a day every day this week sliding this over-sized silver dildo up my tailhole! Happy Valentine's Day!" See? It doesn't work.
As for a suicidal werewolf, I'd never discount someone with a strong enough will to find a way to end his/her life. It'd be easier, plot wise, to put this werewolf as an outcast because he's gay and so lonely that he's really more out for attention, which is usually what a suicide attempt is about. (Cue up Elton John's "Someone Saved My Life Tonight")
And you're right, this would make a good movie if done right. Pity the Hollywood machine would (most likely) shy away from it because the characters don't follow the formula of "boy meets girl".
And stop answering in dialect. It's too difficult for me not to answer back. ;)

hahah :) sorry, can't help it...
...and the subject of silver is another thing that I intend ta cover with this werewolf movie... part of which covers another aspect of the 'true' nature of werewolves... the whole suicidal thing is but a small sub-story of a MUCH bigger 'picture' that I have envisioned...
Silver actually really only affects weres who're either 'cursed' or who've otherwise gone against the alignment of the moon/their goddess deity as silver is 'her' metal... same as gold is more aligned to god... thus any were who has 'fallen from grace' in the eyes of the goddess are the ones who are adversely affected by silver... benign weres can handle it with no problems and some can even grow even more powerful with silver.
Weres also, same as with all animals, have been around and abroad for so long that they are as diversified (but with the same basic similarities) as the various races of man so there'll be several different kinds of werewolves in this tale... the only 'true' defining quality of a werewolf is that they share SOME aspects of both humans and wolves and have at least some small ability to shift some aspect of themselves between the two... so there'll be weres who look like regular wolves but who may have human eyes... and those who seem almost totally human but have some small telltale sign of the wolf about them... and almost anything inbetween...
The REAL story behind this whole thing is of a werewolf who's fallen from grace and has been 'sentenced' by the 'high council' or elder weres (there are 12 of them) and has had his werewolf nature stripped from him and must live as a human... but as part of his 'curse' to regain his former nature he must hunt and kill the 12 who condemned him, regaining his own power AND also growing stronger by taking theirs in the process... he is fast becoming the 'anti-werewolf' who is out to destroy anything in his path... and the only one destined to stop him is a 'sleeping' werewolf... someone who's werewolf nature has lain dormant pretty much their entire life and that person must be 'awakened' to face this dire threat... so one unlikely werewolf sets about finding this foretold individual... an guess who it just happens ta be?....
so now ya got the idea behind the entire story this part of the tale partially revolves around... :)

well... in this tale that's how this human meets this particular werewolf... and they later go into an even more detailed account of why this werewolf has been 'stalking' this particular human ta b'gin with... it involves a VERY complicated plot that is the whole of the storyline for this... guess I must b'gin writin' this... :)
Wow, and I mean wow. I actually read it. I mean, I was sort of interested in the pic but was mindlessly browsing for the most part. Don't know why I thought to read, but I did. The big here is that you held my interest, and the ending left me wanting to read what ever came next. Even read the rest of the comment. Rare thing for me. I look forward to what you wright. Hope you are able to complete it. I have so much unfinished stuff sitting around. I look forward to this.
Kewlness! Well m'glad that ya found it intrestin' enough ta follow along with... an yeah I hear ya... same here... SO much unfinished stuff here too... but this story is one I definately wanna at least get finished in writin' so that maybe even if I can't go further with it then maybe someone else will find it good enough ta do a movie about... here's hopin' anyways... :)
