I wanted to try my hand at digital painting and I decided to go with something smooth and simple. I'm actually surprised how fast I got it done... even though I didn't clean up everything I should have.
Anyways, enjoy some pony fan art.

Looks very nice!
From what I hear, digital painting is almost always much faster than inked art, 'cause it's easy to suggest details in a digital painting whereas you'd have to explicitly ink them in otherwise. You should try some more of it! Landscape paintings are especially quick & fun to do (just get the thumbnail to look good value-wise, then refine, refine, refine)!
You'll have to teach me to do lineless characters properly one day, though... I made that one fox picture and can't get another character to look right since! XD They all look super-dorky unless I'm closely following references. I seem to get lost somewhere around the point where the sketch lines need to go away. I tried painting over them, lowering their opacity, but.... nope.

In terms of making lineless stuff over your sketch this is roughly... ROUGHLY what I did.

Although I did all the colour stuff differently. I still adjusted all my hues and things afterwards instead of painting them in at the start... because I'm lazy. But yeah, you basically colour underneath, merge, then paint over the top so you never lose sight of your lines until you've put so much detail in that you don't need them anymore.
Thank you! I will try to do more.

Ooh thanks! I'll try it out whenever I can find time to do some experimental art for myself again... though honestly I think I've got myself pretty much booked for the next month! XD (I started sketching at the weekly meets, advertised free drawing slots for locals on the furry forum, and suddenly *SHLOOMP!* All of my free time is gone. XD It's fun to feel like I'm becoming popular, though. People seem to pay so much more attention to me when I draw at the meets!!)
I seriously love that tutorial, though.. huge thanks! I now have several things different from last time I want to try.
